Logging and Measuring AC Current
Onset’s split-core AC current sensors can be plugged directly
into any of the HOBO H8
series or HOBO U12 series
of data loggers that have external input channels. Use the
the HOBO external input data loggers shown below to data
log AC currents in the ranges of 0-20, 0-50, 0-100, 0-200,
and 0-600. Some models include other built-in sensors (e.g,
temperature, relative humidity, light intensity) or have
the capability to accept other
external probes and inputs (e.g., temperature, DC voltage,
4-20mA).
Split-Core AC Sensors
- Range available (AC Amps): 0-20, 0-50, 0-100, 0-200,
0-600
- Accuracy with H8 series of data loggers: ±5.0%
of full scale
- Accuracy with U12 series of data loggers: ±4.5%
of full scale
- Response time: CTV-A approximately 440 milliseconds,
CTV-B approximately 200 milliseconds, CTV-C approximately
100 milliseconds, CTV-D approximately 450 milliseconds,
CTV-E approximately 490 milliseconds (from 10% to 90%
of amplitude)
- Input current: AC current, sine wave, single phase 50
Hz or 60 Hz, load power factor 0.5 to 1.0 lead or lag
- Voltage rating: 600 VAC
- Construction and operating environment: Molded plastic
housing for indoor use per UL508; pivoting leg (leg on
CTV-D and CTV-E units is fully removable).
- 1.8m cable (6 foot)

1) AC current sensors are not CE approved
2) AC current sensors are not designed for use with Intrinsically
Safe (IS) loggers
