 Hobo Weather Station

The AE50 award-winning HOBO Weather Station offers research-grade measurement quality and up to 15 channels that accept plug-in smart sensors that eliminate complicated programming, wiring, and calibration. The entire HOBO Weather Station system, including sensors, is powered for one year using four AA batteries and can log over 500,000 measurements into the non-volatile memory. Required Components
HOBO Weather Station Features:
  • Smart  sensors eliminate complex wiring, programming and calibration requirements. Simply plug the sensors into the 10 channel HOBO Weather Station Data Logger or the 4 channel HOBO Micro Station Data Logger and they are automatically recognized. 
  • Order only the sensors you need:  
    Smart sensors are available for temperature, RH,  rainfall, barometric pressure, photosynthetic light, solar radiation, soil moisture, wind speed and wind direction, 0-5VDC, 4-20mA and pulsed outputs. 
  • Low power design eliminates need for solar panels or large external batteries -runs for one year on 4 user replaceable AA batteries.
  • Capacity for over 500,000 measurements.
  • Scalable to a variety of applications - tripod mounted in heights of 2 or 3 meters, or post mounted for microclimate measurement.
  • Sensors can be configured to meet World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Association of American State Climatologists (AASC) standards. 
  • Flexible sensor positioning assures accurate measurement and minimized sensor interference
  • Choose when to start logging:push button start or set a specific time
  • Status lights confirm proper operation.
  • Low battery and low memory warnings.

Weather Station Tripods and Mounting

Two and three meter tripods are available for mounting the sensors to meet the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Association of American State Climatologists(AASC) standards. Alternately, sensors can be compactly configured on masts for monitoring specific microclimates.

NOTE: Due to the very large size and high cost of shipping the tripods and tripod kits, Weather Station users may want to consider purchasing a tripod locally. The tripods are fairly standard; they are like the type you would use to mount a TV antenna.

HOBO Weather Station Software

Setting up the logger start time and sampling rate is easy with HOBOware Software Kit. The Hobo Weather Station allows readout while logging or when data recording has stopped. The software can display current readings and logger status as well as supporting data analysis and export into spreadsheets or specialized post-process applications.
