HOBO Event Data Logger
Event Data Logger w/ weatherproof case and 6' cable
The reusable HOBO Event Logger records the opening of a closed
circuit and is used primarily for tipping rain collectors and industrial
counting application. The event logger will record 8,000 events and store
the time and date of each one. Only one time per event is stored to
minimize memory usage for applications where the event duration is not
needed.
Applications
- Industrial counting
- Rain gauges / collectors
- Turnstiles
- Fixed-cycle machine usage

Difference Between the Hobo State Logger and the Hobo Event Logger
The HOBO Event logger records the opening of the contacts only. It
does not record the closing. The HOBO
State Logger records changes in the state - both
the opening and closing of the switch, (door open/close,
light on/off, etc).
Application
Note: Differences Between State, Event and Pulse Data
Loggers
Hobo
Event and Rainfall Logging
The HOBO Event data logger can connect to standard tipping-bucket
rain collectors to determine rainfall rates, times and duration.
The HOBO Event Data Logger eliminates the need to manually
read rain gauges, saving time and insuring that critical readings
are not missed. Use it to upgrade existing tipping-bucket systems
by replacing counting-type displays. We also offer a
tipping-bucket rain gauge that is packaged with the Hobo
Event.
Features for rainfall measurement
- Easily connects to 2-wire output or 2-screw terminals
in the collector
- Compact, weatherproof case can be mounted inside
or outside the rain collector (avoid direct sunlight)
- 8,000-tip capacity for up to 80" of rainfall
between readouts with 0.01" tipping-bucket
collectors
- User-entered resolution to match with rain-gauge
collector
- Programmable lockout time to filter out false counts
due to tipping-bucket bounce
- Tip counts logged with time information to enable
rainfall intensity determination
Software and Accessories
NOTE: A BoxCar
Pro or
BoxCar starter kit is required
to operate any of the HOBO H8 Family Data Loggers. Each Box
Car starter kit includes software, PC interface cable and
software manual.
