I would like to leave a data logger at our cabin to determine the daily temperature high and low marks and check it once a year. will this unit fulfill this need?
The logger will give you the high/low data if set up in Statistical recording mode however it's over the course of the entire deployment and not specific to each 24 hour period.  With that said you can filter that data using the software to...
Can I download the data to Excel, and can I print the charts. Also does the unit require any external temperature probes, or operating power.
The data is downloaded using the software which is available as a free download.  Once downloaded you can save it as a csv file and open it in Excel.  This logger uses an internal sensor so no additional sensors are required.  It is powered...
Does the unit come with a certificate of calibration or must it be purchased separately?
The calibration service is optional and must be purchased separately if you require it.  You will see the option to add it to the order just above the "add to cart" button.   We offer two levels of calibration.  They are both the ...

Is it possible to hands free continuously monitor the temperature on a dedicated tablet running the hobo software?
If you keep the app open on your tablet and the logger connected you can see the current readings but it's not in real time.  There is a delay.  Also, doing this will drain the battery on the logger much quicker than normal as it is staying...
Does this come with a separate temperature probe so I can keep the logger in a dry area as opposed to where the temp. probe will be?
No, this logger uses an internal sensor. We would suggest looking at devices with an external temperature probe if that's what you are after.
