Overview of the HOBO RG3 Rain Guage Data Logger
The Onset HOBO RG3 is a data logging rain gauge that can record up to 160 inches of rainfall at rates up to 12.7cm (5 inches) per hour. The complete system includes a tipping rain bucket and a HOBO Pendant Event logger. The RG3 is available in both English and Metric versions. The system makes collecting rainfall, time, and duration data, as well as temperature extremely easy. When monitoring temperature, we recommend the use of the RS1 Solar Radiation Shield or the M-RSA. Downloading the logger can be done in less than 30 seconds using the required optical USB interface (BASE-U-4 or U-DTW-1). The logger is configured, and data is viewed using either free HOBOware or HOBOware Pro (paid) software.
