  • Answer:

    Terminating resistors for RS-485 networks may or may not be required, depending on length of runs between devices, and number of devices on the network.  Unfortunately, Dent does not make any specific recommendations, as this is unique to each RS-485 network, and falls outside of the scope of their hardware. Our recommendation is to follow best practices with respect to building RS-485 network infrastructure.

    The PowerScout Series meters are not meant to be standalone energy recorders. They are designed to connect as a slave device to a data logger, Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), or building management host network.
