Overview of the Lascar EL-USB-VAC Vaccine Monitoring Digital Data Logger

The Lascar EL-USB-VAC is a standalone USB temperature digital data logger designed for monitoring vaccines in refrigerators and freezers. The logger can measure and store over 32k readings before needing to be downloaded. The logger can be used to measure and record temperature over a range of -40°C to +60°C (-40°F to 140°F) and has an accuracy of +/-0.1°C. The display allows you to cycle through current, minimum, and maximum readings. The free and easy to use EasyLog USB software allows you to quickly configure the loggers and view downloaded data. The EL-USB-VAC includes a 1-year calibration certificate from our ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited calibration lab, 1-meter thermistor probe attached to a glycol buffer bottle, protective cap, and 1/2AA 3.6-volt lithium battery.

Customer Questions
Can this digital device be placed directly in the freezer and continue to function in temperatures that range between -40 C to -15 C? I am trying to find a digital data logger that does not have a wire running form the inside to the outside the freezer unit.
Generally speaking we don't recommend keeping a logger in a freezer unless it's for short term testing.  This is because the cold temperatures greatly reduce the battery life and make the LCD display (if equipped) not readable.  To use a logger...
Hi, Can you tell me if this data logger is VFC compliant with the accuracy range of +/-1.0F (+/-.5C)? What type of battery does it us and how long is the battery life? Thanks
Yes, this logger meets the current requirements of the VFC program. The logger uses a 1/2 AA battery (included) and has a typical battery life of up to 1-2 years.
can we ask for two year calibration instead of just one?
As the customer you can request any interval you would like however the manufacturer of this product doesn't recommend anything more than a one year interval.  If you order online you can state the interval you wish us to list in the order notes...
Can the calibration cert be requested for more than 2 years? 3, 5 years? State requires we keep a backup thermo for VFC so these sit in a cabinet, never get used, and we have the privilege of paying for them, then throwing money away every year or 2 when they expire or paying to re-calibrate something we don't use, which is usually more expensive than just buying a new one. (Which kills me!)
While technically you as the customer can request any calibration interval you want, the VFC typically won't accept going with any interval that is greater than 2 years or whichever the manufacturer recommends.  For this particular logger the manufacturer...
