Overview of the Lascar Electronics EL-USB-TC USB Thermocouple Data Logger

The Lascar EL-USB-TC is a small USB thermocouple data logger for recording temperature using thermocouple sensors. This mini data recorder works with type J, K and T thermocouple data probes for temps anywhere from -200°C to 1,300°C (0°C to 200°C with included K-Type sensor). Store up to 32,000 readings on the internal storage with sample rates as fast as one second. The logger features programmable alarms that are represented in the data and through physical LED lights on the body of the logger.

Customer Questions
Is the software compatible with Windows 10?
Yes, it will work with Windows10
We need Type K Thermocouple with 5 Meter Cable. Can this be done?
Yes, you can use any thermocouple you would like with this logger.  While the included type k is not long enough for your application you can purchase any other thermocouple we sell or through a 3rd party supplier to use with the logger.  You...
It says the operating range is up to 104 degrees yet the type j and K thermocouples can read much higher. If I am measuring the temperature of a liquid, up to 205 F, and just the thermocouple is in the liquid will the unit read the temperature correctly? I take it just the unit itself does not operate in conditions over said temp, but it has the ability to read higher temps?
The overall measurement range of the logger itself is -200°C to +1300°C however the Type K thermocouple it comes with is rated for 0°C to 200°C.  If you need to monitor something beyond that range you will need to use a different...
Are these waterproof?
No, this logger is rated IP61 which means it's dust tight and protected from occasional dripping water.  This assumes that the USB cover is firmly installed and that the terminal strips are not exposed to moisture. We do have some customers using...
Does each thermocouple require it’s own USB port in the computer? Or can multiple thermocouples send data to a single USB data logger?
You only plug the logger into your USB port when you set it up and downloading the data.  You don’t need to leave it plugged in to a USB port while it’s recording.   These devices are meant to record data that is reviewed later, they don...
What AWG wire should be used for J-type connection?
You would need to use a J-type thermocouple sensor.  The AWG of the wire will vary depending on the sensor you use.
Do they come with a calibration certificate
No.  If you need a calibration certificate you must add that as a separate item.
