- An Indispensible Tool For Troubleshooting Review by Arfur Smithers

Price Quality Value
The only caveat I would add is to make sure you have a MINI USB cable. It does not come with one. Nowadays it is very easy to find MICRO USB cables -- but MINI cables are becoming harder to find. Without that, you can't configure or use this device. Order one when you order this data logger. The price is negligible, compared to the time you will waste trying to track one down. Ideally, they would include one, but they don't. (Posted on 4/24/2016)

Questions

Answer:
No, this logger doesn't come with a calibration certificate. If you require a calibration certificate you should add it as an option. This can be selected right on the product page. Once selected you will be offered a drop down menu to choose the calibration points.
-
Answer:
Very good question. Most customers get along fine with the free version of HOBOware. The pro version has some addition capabilities and is required on certain Onset products (not this one).
Here is a comparison between the two so you can review the differences - https://www.microdaq.com/hoboware-software-comparison
-
Answer:
The total number of readings this logger can record on its internal memory is 1.9 million readings.
This is the total number or data values for all four channels so if you were recording on all four channels you could record 475k readings per channel.
The data can be transferred to a computer after the recording is completed but you can't stream the data to have it record on the computer for infinite recording.
-
Answer:
While the combination of this logger and the 0-2.5v input cable will allow you to record the presence of voltage this logger doesn't have a fast enough sample rate to capture events.
For a 4 channel event logger we would recommend the HOBO UX120-017M found here - https://www.microdaq.com/onset-hobo-ux120-pulse-event-runtime-data-logger.php
