  • Answer:

    The resolution of the GL840-M is down to the forth digit decimal when used in 0-1V range mode.

    The accuracy of the device will apply (0.1% full scale) but the application will be readable and displayed at the fourth decimal.

    The logger can be powered by a DC source that is 8.5v to 24v.  As long as your solar source can output that voltage you might be able to do it.  To power via a DC source you will also need to purchase a DC adaptor power cable - https://www.microdaq.com/graphtec-dc-power-cable.php

    We have not tested the unit powered on a solar panel and are not aware of anyone who has.

  • Answer:

    We have since been made aware of a successful implementation of using a solar panel to power a GL840-M logger.  The panel was capable of powering up to 24 volts and was connected to a deep cycle battery.  The battery was then connected to the GL840-M.  The battery used must be able to provide enough capacity (mAh) to be able to power the GL840-M when the panel isn’t providing any power (times of no sunlight).
