  • Answer:

    Changing the temperature scale is done from the cloud site or using the desktop software depending on how you are using the loggers.

    If you are using the cloud you would go to your devices dashboard, select the logger you want to change, then click "change device settings" from the options below the main window.  From there locate the temperature scale icon and click on it to change it using the drop down menu that will pop up.  Then click "save".  The logger will change the next time the data is transmitted to the could.

     

    If you are using the desktop software you will need to connect to the logger from the software and the process to change the temperature scale is selected in the configuration options.

    You can view the maximum and minimum reading for the recording session by just using buttons on the device however if you want to see the recorded data you must use a PC, Cloud service, or mobile device. 

    The logger requires it to be connected to a PC and programed via software before it can be used.  Once configured you can access it and make changes to it via the cloud or choose to connect via the desktop software.

    The EL-WIFI series of loggers from Lascar can be kept plugged into AC power using the included USB cable and an AC/USB adaptor (not included).  The AC adaptor is available as an accessory.   Once fully charged the battery can power the logger for up to 6 months depending on the settings.

    Permanent charging will have a minor long term effect on the battery life however it's minimal and won't be noticed in most cases.

    This logger can be set up to send an email in the event of an alarm (high or low temperature).  These alerts are only possible if you use it with the optional cloud service.  The cloud service is free for up to two loggers but then a paid service beyond that.  If you plan to use this with a fridge or freezer unit we would suggest the same logger with an external sensor, the EL-WIFI-TP - https://www.microdaq.com/lascar-wifi-external-thermistor-sensor-data-logger.php

     

    The logger needs a Wifi signal to operate so if you place it in a fridge you most likely wouldn't have enough signal to transmit.  The EL-WIFI-TP allows you to mount the logger outside of the fridge and have only the sensor inside.

    You can use any standard USB/AC adaptor (widely available) to power the logger via AC power.  The battery must be charged before the logger can be powered in this manner.  The battery is charged by plugging the logger in via USB to a PC or AC if an adaptor is used.  Using it this way powers the logger by AC and uses the battery as a backup.
