Overview of the Reed Instruments R8080 Data Logging Sound Level Meter

The Reed R8080 Data Logging Sound Level Meter with Bargraph is a quick response triple range sound level meter with a backlit LCD display. It features an analog bargraph and built-in memory that can store up to 64k data points. The R8080 has an accuracy of +/-1.4 dB and it meets the Type 2 standard. It’s standout feature is that it can be used to monitor sound levels in real-time on a PC when used in conjunction with the included PC software.

The R8080 is also available in kit form which includes the meter, calibrator, and carrying case. Check out the R8080-KIT.

Does this meter meet the standards of the ANSI SI.2 - 1962 "American Standard Meter for the Physical Measurements of Sound."?
The R8080 meets ANSI S1.4 Type 2 American standard for sound level meter performance as well as IEC 61672 Class 2 which is the most recent sound level meter standard and the one that modern measurement regulations will require.
